WiFi Access Points

We are opening a new coworking space in beautiful (yes, look up Cebu on Google images!) Cebu, Philippines - www.TheTideCebu.com and are trying to get all the infrastructure squared away.

What do you all use & recommend for WiFi Access Points? The space is about 300 sqm and we want to plan for 100-150 people (esp during events) using WiFi. We’re looking at Ubiquiti
UniFi AP, Asus home routers, Linksys, etc. Because we’re in the Philippines, it’s difficult to just order and try a bunch of equipment from Amazon. Advice?

Thank You,

-Ravi

Ravi, I’ve worked at 3 WiFi companies and have used everything under the sun.

Ubqiuiti is likely the best bang for your buck. Get 1 AP for about every 20 people online, and you should be good as a starting point.

Unify are great machines at a great price. Get the pro model that has dualband 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz.

I've just tested Meraki MR18 and they are great. They are more expensive but the controller is much more advanced and you can create a network for guests that makes them check-in on Facebook to your space. You can call Meraki and arrange for a couple weeks of testing.

Forget Linksys , they are awful.
