To pay, or not to pay (for advertising)

We need to grow our membership (what else is new…).

Just wondering how many of you do well just with social media, free Yelp, Craigslist etc, all the free stuff.

vs

How many of you pay for ads? If you do pay, do you prefer Facebook, Yelp or Google? Or some other platform you prefer? And what do you spend on a monthly basis?

Gratefully,

Alejandro, we recommend using paid ads when you have significant vacancy. Paid ads get you in front of members who are really looking for space. The downside? If you pick the wrong approach, or have a poor website or sales process, ads won’t help. We can help on all fronts, but or ads, here are the top 25 highest performing keywords for paid ads on our platform. Hope this helps!

I’d forgotten about this post. Thank you for getting back to me!

According to coworking research, Google Adwords are the most immediate and cost effective way to do paid advertising.

Be warned though, it can be very expensive. In Denver it costs around $20 to $25 per click. It takes about 8 to 10 clicks to get a tour, and around 3 to 4 tours to get a members. The total cost per acquisition is around $800 in Denver.

Yelp and Google Ads are solid, but it depends on where your audience hangs out.

I’m replying to an old post here, but growing membership is always a hot topic! Personally, I’ve had good results with both free options like social media and Craigslist, but paying for ads has really made a difference.
