Permitting for Coworking Space

Hey all!

I am working to set up a new coworking space in the NYC area, and I wanted to see if any of you had to apply for specific or peculiar permits for this kind of business? I imagine this is probably an NYC specific question, but I would love to hear from any of you!

Frederick, MD called our coworking space “office” because that was the label they felt matched the closest. We did not have to get any special permits, but the building had to meet requirements for an office space.

Thanks so much, Julia! That’s the route we are thinking about taking, but we wanted to be sure we weren’t missing anything. Seems straightforward, but in NYC you just never know!
