New Space Catalyst Intro

Hi Everyone

I’m Bianca, mom to a 3yo little boy and a newborn baby girl. I am in the process of developing ideas to create a coworking space in Durban, South Africa, specifically targeted at Work at Home Moms - WAHM WorkSpace. My website isn’t quite ready, but you can check out my Facebook page - www.facebook.com/wahmworkspace

I’d love to get in touch with other space owners in South Africa, as well as gain insight on the complications of having childcare, a retail space, function room and coworking space all in one location. I have decided to target the niche that I am, since there are already a variety of spaces for trendy or corporate coworking, but no offering in my country (that I can find) of coworking spaces with childcare on site.

I envisage a converted double storey house for my space with private offices, meeting rooms and storage space upstairs, and a ground floor incorporating the coworking space, kitchenette, retail space and function room. I would love to have a garden and outdoor seating area as well. Key things to consider in South Africa are safe and secure parking on site, as well as stringent security measures for the property.

I’d really love your thoughts and look forward to learning loads as I move forward with my idea.
