Network of Spaces

Hi all! I’ve been running a co-working space in lower Manhattan (commonpracticeworkshop.com) for the last 6 years. Our members are in creative industries and we have a very independent vibe. I’d love to get to know other mom and pops in other cities…

I’m curious if anyone is aware of a network of independent co-working spaces.

Would love to start some cross-city collaborations.

Hi Greta!

It’s Melissa Tapper Goldman from GSAPP : ).

I run The Village Works, which is an indie coworking space company in Boston with two locations. We have been involved in some different initiatives to bring together local independent coworking spaces over the years, with varying results.

Would love to connect about it and brainstorm, even though we’re in different cities.

You can reach me at melissa@ thevillageworks. com (or you may still have my cell!).

Hey Greta,

I’m Sean from radius in Erie, PA. Always glad to connect with peers. In PA we have a loose network of indie spaces across the state. We’ve helped each other over the years informally, occasionally have gathered for a kind of conference, and recently revived the PA Coworking Passport where we afford reciprocity to each other’s members.

You can reach me at [email protected] if we can ever be helpful.

Welcome to the movement, Greta! Always love to see folks building community in NYC.

Two fellow Manhattan spaces you might befriend: Fabrik and Prime Produce. Lovely people behind both.

I’d also love to connect at some point—I’ll message you separately.

As for cross-city collabs - we got you! The Coworking Visa, like this forum, is a movement-maintained alliance of spaces that offer free access to members of other participating spaces. We represent hundreds of locations around the world—a huge perk for members!

I administer that site (and am working on fixing Google Maps right now), so feel free to hit me with any questions!
