Looking for coworking in western Chicago suburbs

Greetings! I'm new to coworking, but am very excited about the idea.
Is anyone aware of any coworking groups / locations in the western
chicago suburbs, particularly near Naperville, Wheaton, St. Charles or
Geneva?

Many Thanks!
Mike Biang

To expand this further, I will be in Chicago proper at the end of
April. Any spaces near Bucktown or downtown that I can check out while
I'm there? I took a look at the Wiki and COOP and Ravenswood look the
most inviting: http://wiki.coworking.info/CoworkingChicago

Anyone have comments about either of these spaces? It seems only COOP
has day rates and neither seem to be on the Coworking Visa.

Mike,
I'm in Chicago too, but the city. I don't know of anything yet in W.
Suburbs. Do you want to initiate it? Go for it.

Eric, the COOP/coworkingchicago site is right between Bucktown &
downtown and so closest to that area if you are staying there. The
Ravenswood location is good if you are staying on the Northside and
need to get into the city as it's close to the EL.

good luck to you

I use to live in Chicago and didn’t know of any coworking out in the suburbs. This was several years and there are now many more spaces but they all appear to be downtown along the EL and the loop.

There is a lot of potential if you’d like to start a coworking group and start driving interest.

Here are the few that I saw while doing a research field trip for my space. They’re all in the loop, or nearby:

TechNexus - very nice place (kind of corporate), productive and full. Lots of moderate-sized rooms, which seemed helpful
OfficePort - a little more bare-bones (lots of concrete), mostly 4-person team areas. Nice folks.

1871 - INSANE space. 50,000 sf. Also an incubator & mini-school. Has an intelligentsia coffee bar in it and is sponsored by everyone under the sun. Visited by the UK Prime Minister while he was in town.

Enerspace - Very nice new space. Emphasizes wellness + productivity.

The COOP - Early pioneers. Design company runs the space and develops desktimeapp.com. Super nice space and people.

Chicago has a good coworking ecosystem, but the suburbs are waaaay lagging. Thus, my soon-to-be-announced space in Waukegan, IL.
