Just starting out

Hello everyone,
I am just starting out. I’m opening a coworking space for women in North Tampa. I have been doing a lot of reading and was told I should join this group. I’m at the stage where I have my pricing, website, intragram, twitter, I’ve even found a space I like. Well, now I need some members :o) I have been told I need to start the community before I sign the lease. I don’t want to build it and hope they come. Do you have any advice for me as to how to start building the community.

Thanks :o)

Google Alex Hillman and read his posts. There’s a lot of gold there that will help you out.

Hey Marlo welcome. This is a very friendly, helpful community. You’ll definitely get fresh ideas, new tools and thoughtful discussion. I recall a couple of thought provoking threads on the community question. Alex would say gather your community first and I agree.

While working on my launch I had the pleasure of interviewing other women owners for their tips and insights. You can find the interviews at

  Hey folks,

This survey of Canadian coworking spaces that I mentioned back in the

summer is finally done. It’s no where near as comprehensive as Deskmag’s

global survey, but rather a basic one that is a good starting point for us

to build on in future.

As promised, I’m sharing the survey results. If you’re curious, the report

is available at http://bit.ly/18koeH9

I recently needed a coworking space in Prague and created my own comparison

of the spaces available. I want to make my research available for anybody

else looking for a coworking space in Prague:

Here's a great counter article. [http://workplaceinsight.net/we-shouldnt-be-too-quick-to-demonise-the-open-plan-office/](http://workplaceinsight.net/we-shouldnt-be-too-quick-to-demonise-the-open-plan-office/) in response to all the articles lately about this very issue.
