Does your space use a roomba or robotic vacuum

I'm pondering a roomba to run every night on our 2nd floor otherwise known as "crumb town." Anyone have success or cautionary tales? That level is laminate flooring and is maybe 300ft2.

If you use one, what model is it?

Angel

Hey Angel, we use a BoBSweep - we have laminate flooring as well (the kind w/ the grooves in it that looks closer to real wood) and have been impressed with it…that being said we don’t have a ‘crumb town’ to deal with (our kitchenette is in one corner and most people just grab coffee and beer there), but if you have a wide open space it’s a great addition!

Never had one for Indy Hall but I had a Roomba at home for a while. It was great - and strangely fun to watch

I originally got the version that needed to be charged but found that the battery didn’t hold as well as advertised and I needed to charge it VERY often. When I didn’t, it’d end up turning off while under a piece of furniture, and then I’d have to go looking under everything for the damn Roomba. Funny once.

The last thing is to make sure that the dust bin is clipped on tight! More than once I came home to the ass-end of a Roomba in the middle of the room, a pile of dirt trailing from it, and the rest of the Roomba hiding under the sofa. It was like having a pet who crapped on the floor and then hid from shame. Hilarious.

I returned it to get one of the self-docking charger versions, and that was great.

OMG. I could watch it all day. I got the Roomba 650, which docks itself after it’s done or when low on battery. So far, it has been docked each morning and the dust bin has stuff in it so it must be working! He did get trapped under a toilet, which was embarrassing for him so I stuck giant Command adhesive hooks to the floor under the toilets so he’d bump into them. Our kitchen floor is already looking fresh and lovely each morning. Yay.
