Coworking in the UK'also, the Coworking visa

Hi, all,

I have a coworker in my space who wants to launch two new furniture lines in the UK and is looking for a home address to start with. I expect they would start with an almost wholly virtual office kind of setup – as the Uk is not that far as Dutch guys think of it – and then (if all goes well) grow from there. Not exactly a branch office because i understand they intend to start an Ltd to run it, but close.

I don’t see an alliance in the UK on the Wiki.

This brought up some questions: In th elog term, this really ought to fall under the Visa I think, but their immediate need is not short term desk space but a home base from which to start operations. Possibly there is more interest int his and we might want to have a look at the Visa in this light?

In the short term, who in the UK wants a new coworker? I have one available for youo to pitch.

Cheers,

Jeannine

Hi Jeannine

Sounds great - we can supply a Registered Business Address service but can only accept ‘envelope mail’ and not parcels. We’re centrally located in the UK an hour from Birmingham International Airport

www.enterprisehubnetwork.com

Can send the full info pack if that would be useful and certainly would love to pitch to your furniture entrepreneur.

Best regards

Fay

HI Jeannine,

That might have been me in a burst of organisational passion last year, before the reality of actually setting up a space took over my time. We do have a pretty nice group of UK space owner/operators organised via a LinkedIn Group moderated by Alec Grant from The Digital Work Hub in Walton-on-Thames. I can refer them to your offer.

We’d be delighted to host your furniture folks here at THINQTANQ! (http://thinqtanq.spaces.nexudus.com/en) Many people think Plymouth is a little too far away from airports to be convenient. We of course love our location on the ocean, next to the moors, with fresh food all around us, even if it takes us a little longer to get to an airport. Let me know if the location would work and if you would like us to send along more information.

Best wishes,

Sabrina

Hi Jeannine,

You have a few different options for finding out about spaces in the UK.

A UK wide list of registered spaces and tech startups in the UK - http://techbritain.com/

A list of spaces in and around London - http://www.gocowo.com/
A list of UK spaces and other related things - https://twitter.com/digitalworkhub/co-working-uk/

If I can help any further then do contact me directly.

Regards,

Alec

Hey, thanks, guys.

I will forward these names to my coworker.

Would one of you consider putting the UK listings you have on the Wiki? There is a list on the Front Page for associations and so on, also for finders. Either one would do depending on how you would characterize your resource.

Thanks!

Jeannine
