Coworking in Small Towns - Discussion Group?

Hi,

Does anyone know if there is currently a discussion group that specifically focuses on coworking in small towns? I don’t want to recreate something, if it already exists (regardless of the channel).

This is a follow-up from a coworking unconference session at GCUC - we all wanted to stay connected.

Thanks!

Hi Lauren,

Can you please keep me in the loop on where this group of small town coworking folks ends up? I wasn't able to make it to GCUC but have alot of experience collaborating with small towns on coworking projects and would love to be part of the convo:)

Thanks and be great!
Chris

I'd be interested in this too!

If you all are looking to participate in an already established group…we can accommodate interested people in our free, monthly, online, virtual meetup…details for applying can be checked out at Cowork University.com

I’m suggesting this because it’s already rocking and it might be easier than starting from scratch…

If you wanna do something new, we could even talk about doing a separate group (same format)…specifically for small town coworks!

Lmk your thoughts, who would be involved and if this sounds like a good idea and we can roll with it!

Be great,

Chris

Hi Jerome,

I don’t currently use Slack, but that’s precisely the channel I was thinking of creating a group like this. I created a channel for our space when we opened but we haven’t found the need to use it yet. Does a group for smaller coworking spaces already exist on Slack? If so, I wanted to join and invite several people to the group who I met at GCUC as well.

Hi Lauren,

There’s a Slack group for Cowork Leaders and it has a #small-city-strategies thread. Link below…

If you’d like to create something a bit more involved (where people can gather virtually - face to face and talk about issues and topics related to small-town coworking)…I’d be interested in collaborating with you to make that happen! It sounds like the format we have for Cowork University would be a perfect fit:)

Keep me posted, if this is something you’d like to pursue. Cool?

Be great and talk soon,
Chris

Chris, I think let’s start with the slack channel for now, and figure out the demand for something bigger. I will invite those from GCUC who were interested in staying in touch, to the group as well.

Hi!
As this topic is highly interesting to me, this thread made me sign up to Slack! As I am brand new to this website, could you please tell me how I can join the coworkingleadership community? My username is eveline.

Thanks!

Eveline

Hi,

You need to create a Slack account first and then people can invite you to certain channels once you’ve joined.

Does this Slack channel still exist? Could someone invite me, please? We’re working on a rural coworking space in southern UK.

Thank you

I know this was over a year ago. I am curious if any of this options is still available. I am currently working on starting a coworking space in a rural area.

Hi Rachelle!

Try this thread: Is my area too rural?
