Hi everyone,
I am trying to get a head start on planning for International Coworking Day. Since it falls on a Sunday this year (and we are closed that day) I was thinking of having events every day for the week following Aug 9. What are some great event ideas that have worked for spaces in the past and what if anything are you all planning for this year? Also we have a couple of new coworking spaces in my town now and i am wondering what we can all do together to spread the word about coworking in our town. Thanks!
Last year we opened our doors for free and also gave all our members a free day pass too. With this year falling on a Sunday it might be nice as you said to spread it our over the following week…maybe do lunch one day (either you guys provide or get everyone to bring a dish in), a free day or two etc. If you can link up with the other coworking spaces it might be nice for you to open your doors to their members and vice versa! Good luck with the planning!

Great idea to do it for a week if you can but focus on a dayis helpful for some locations. Would be great if we were able to change the date from 9 to 10 Aug as most places won’t be open on 9.

I totally understand that one space hosting an event for a week is difficult. We suggest hosting a week because most cities have multiple spaces that operate, and a week provides a good amount of time for each space to host an open house to invite the public in. You need one “organizing” community member, space owner or space manager to help coordinate the events for each city.
We also need platform partners like yourself, please drop me an email directly, and lets chat about collaborating.
Anyone lurking in the group and wants to engage (especially sponsors $$), in kind trades, volunteers, etc, please reach out, my wife is pregnant, and I can really use some help organizing this years events.

We are working on marketing designs for Coworking Week, and as you may or may not know, Coworking turns 10 years old this year, so we wanted to create a special logo that we can all use. Please take a look and let me know which which one you like more by replying to this email with your vote using the file name (10-1, 10-2, 10-3). I also attached the designs in sticker format to give you an idea of what they would look like.
These will all be creative commons license, so you can change the colors to match your branding, the language, etc.

Do you guys have any ideas for fun events we could have that week? I was thinking of an Open House one day, a business presentation aka Lunch and Learn, breakfast or donuts and coffee one day (that Monday is the first day of kids here going back to school), A Be The Match donor event for charity, a wine or whisky tasting one night.
